ENDING THE SILENCE WEEK…A Special Message from ASB

As you know, many students and adults on our campus have encountered mental illness—depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc—and many battle alone without treatment because they don’t understand what is happening or because they afraid of the stigma. Statistics show that 1 in 5 high school students struggle with mental illness, but only half of them ever seek treatment. Our goal this week is to raise awareness that treatment is available and that students living with mental illness do not need to suffer in silence.

This is a video of actors portraying actual Woodcreek student stories relating to mental health issues.  These stories were collected over the past few months through a Google Form we sent out.  Their stories are gripping and powerful and hopefully remind our students that if they are battling a mental health issue themselves or with a loved one, THEY ARE NOT ALONE.
